Connecting to the PHFS network via this method involves installing an application on the computer(s) you use to connect. This application creates a Virtual Private Network (VPN) using a secure protocol with provided credentials to connect to the Wyndhurst network - so you could use your computer from (almost) anywhere in the world while being connected to Wyndhurst as though you were sitting in your office. You can connect/disconnect from this VPN at will.

The most obvious benefit is the ability to connect to any printer on our network (including all of our remote sites, except HCCC and Farmville), but this also routes all of your network traffic through our firewall in Wyndhurst, providing you with an extra layer of security while browsing, and if needed you can access remote desktop environments and Network Storage.

If you're interested in trying this out, please fill out a service request for VPN access and IT can get your credentials together and get you started!

You will receive an email with this information, but it is included here for reference.

Go to: https://50.245.234.225:4445 (this is our Firewall's remote access portal)

username: (provided via email)

Password: (provided via email)

Once in, click on the Remote Access Tab, and click to download/install the client package for Windows or Mac on your machine.

Once installed, you'll need to connect by right-clicking on the Sophos SSL Client located in your system tray(Windows)/Toolbar(Mac), (looks like a traffic light) click Connect, and enter your username and password.

To disconnect, right-click on the Sophos SSL Client again, and click "Disconnect" or Turn off your machine - simply closing the lid/putting your computer to sleep will not deactivate the connection.
